The Alex Clarke Quartet "Out of The Woods"


Out Of The Woods’ - 2026 album tour
Alex Clarke presents her latest album, "Out of the Woods," which celebrates the legacy of alto saxophonist Phil Woods. Featuring fresh reworkings of both classic and lesser-known Woods repertoire alongside her own original compositions inspired by his distinctive sound. This exciting new project showcases Alex's deep connection to the bebop tradition.
Alex, a finalist in the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2020 & winner of the Rising Star category in the 2019 British Jazz Awards,is recognised as one of the most in-demand saxophonists on the British jazz scene and has performed with such notables like Alan Barnes, Alex Garnett & Mark Nightingale and regularly performs with The Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra.
Tonight Alex leads her own stellar quartet featuring some of the UK's finest musicians namely:
Dave Newton - piano, Mike Green - bass & Steve Brown - drums.
Expect a compelling evening of fiery straight-ahead jazz, innovative arrangements and exciting ensemble interplay.

Also regrettably there is no disabled access to the performance area which is accessed via two flights of stairs.

Ralf DeCambre "From Scratch"

​Birmingham born guitarist Ralf DecCambrefirst picked up his Father’s guitar when he was around 10 years old while his Father was out at work and never looked back. Learning from his father Ralf quickly progressed to play across several genres including rock, reggae, jazz and classical. As a young man he earned a living in engineering and continued that path while regularly performing and developing his musical skills in several bands including the rock band Man ‘O’ War. A chance meeting with Andy Hamilton’s then guitarist Jived, took Ralf to the MAC and from then on he was a Blue Note for 13 years including playing on their first album "Silvershine". He has performed at both "Ronnie Scotts" Birmingham and London, and on tours to Paris (Caveaux De La Huchette), Milan, St Lucia Festival & Jamaica Festival andhas performed alongside many other top flight artists including the brilliant jazz violinist Ralph Allin.Since 2012 he has co-led the quartet "From Scratch" with Andy’s son Mark Hamilton, Ray ‘Pablo’ Brown & Wayne Scott.

Concerts usually finish just after 10 pm. Access to The Bonded Warehouse is via two short flights of stairs and may not be suitable for those with disabilities. Free parking is available alongside the Bonded Warehouse in Canal Street.

There will be no refreshments served but patrons may bring a moderate amount of refreshments, including alcoholic drinks, for their own consumption during the concert.
